Academic Honor for Memphis Tigers' Punter

Posted By on Thu, Dec 3, 2009 at 2:21 PM

Hats off to Tiger punter Matt Reagan. The senior from Knoxville was named today to Conference USA’s All-Academic team. To qualify, a player must hold a 3.2 grade point average — Reagan’s is 3.85 — and play regularly for his team.

Reagan is majoring in earth science, with a minor in math. He’s planning on attending graduate school to study meteorology.

A semifinalist for the Ray Guy Award, Reagan ranks third nationally with an average of 45.5 yards. He drilled 19 punts at least 50 yards this season, and left 26 inside the opponent’s 20-yard line. Reagan also handled place-kicking duties and finished second on the team with 64 points.
