Among the fundamental goals of any college football program is to improve on the previous season. If the Tigers do so, they'll win (at least) five games this fall, which would give coach Justin Fuente (right) at least nine victories over his first two seasons.

Who was the last Memphis coach to win as many as nine games over his first two years on the sideline?

Seven Tiger coaches have come and gone since Richard Williamson won 14 games over the 1975 and 1976 seasons. The next highest win total since then for a coach's first two seasons is eight, by Tommy West (2001 and 2002).
