Overview:
"Our identity aligns with the inclusive, community-focused service we provide."
Brent Taylor Funeral Directors will no longer carry the name of (or be owned by) the Memphis Republican state Senator.
The funeral home’s parent company, Heritage Family, announced on Facebook Tuesday that “the business is no longer owned, operated, or affiliated in any way with Brent Taylor.” The company said its Collierville location is now in a transitional phase. Leadership has changed hands, and ”all decisions, services, and community initiatives are now guided by a new management team.”

“We understand that recent public statements and political commentary made by the former owner do not reflect the values, mission, or beliefs of our current leadership,” the funeral home said in its post. “To ensure that our identity aligns with the inclusive, community-focused service we provide, we are actively undertaking a full rebrand of the funeral home.”
The new funeral home will get a new name, a new sign, and a visual identity. This will represent a fresh chapter for our organization and a renewed promise to the families of Collierville and the surrounding areas.”
The former Brent Taylor Funeral Directors is part of a larger company called Heritage Family. That company has 130 locations in 11 states with 700 employees.
The company’s post said the need for clarification came as recent statements have caused confusion with families who thought Taylor’s views represented Heritage Family.
“Our goal is to create a space that is welcoming to all, free from association with any individual’s political views, and singularly dedicated to offering compassionate care during life’s most difficult moments,” the company said.
Taylor said nothing of the move on social medial as of Wednesday afternoon. Instead he posted an October letter he claimed was Proof: The ‘Tirade Tami’ investigation was severely limited by our Soros-backed DA.”
This relates to an incident in the Shelby County Courthouse involving General Sessions Court Clerk Tami Sawyer and Shelby County District Attorney General Steve Mulroy’s handling of its investigation. Apparently, Taylor believes Mulroy is funded by Hungary-born American investor George Soros.
