Up for auction this Saturday in Los Angeles is a bottle of pills prescribed to Elvis. The auction is being presented by Julien’s, with proceeds going to Yoko Ono’s John Lennon Education Bus Tour, a music-education program.
The prescription, written by Dr. Nick, is for the antihistamine Naldecon. The bottle contains 12 pills, and, given that they are at least 30 years old, are probably no longer effective. Nonetheless, Darren Julien, president of the auction house, is consulting an attorney to see if auctioning the pills is legal.
The bottle came from Elvis pal George Klein, who also provided a Humes High yearbook. Also in the lot is a gold-plated pistol that was given to Elvis by Hawaii 5-0 star Jack Lord.
