On Wednesday night, the Grizzlies lost 130-119 to the New York Knicks, allowing the Knicks to sweep the season series for the third straight season. The Grizzlies are currently on a six-game losing streak to New York, their longest active losing streak against an Eastern Conference opponent.
Before diving into this game, again, a little Grizzlies housekeeping: On Tuesday, March 31, the Grizzlies signed guard Lucas Williamson to a 10-day contract.
Per Grizzlies PR: Williamson (6-4, 205) has appeared in 46 games (15 starts) for the Memphis Hustle and Windy City Bulls during the 2025-26 NBA G League Tip-Off Tournament and regular season, has averaged 7.2 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.1 steals in 23.7 minutes. The 27-year-old has competed in 139 NBA G League games (46 starts) over four seasons with the Ontario Clippers, Hustle, and Bulls.
And another bit of housekeeping of a different nature: Grizzliesโ big man Brandon Clarke was arrested in Cross County, Arkansas, Wednesday afternoon and charged with possession of a controlled substance, trafficking a controlled substance, improper passing, and fleeing vehicle or conveyance exceeding the speed limit. There are no additional details at this time.
Woof. This season really might be cursed.
Back to the game, the Knicks blew the doors off in the first quarter, outscoring the Grizzlies 48-30, with the most points scored by any opponent in any quarter by a Grizzlies opponent this season.
Memphis was unable to recover, and New York led this one wire-to-wire, the fifth such loss for the Grizzlies this season.
The Knicks dominated in this matchup โ outscoring the Grizzlies in the paint 66-44, 27-6 in fast break points, and outrebounding them 49-20. Those 20 rebounds are a season-low for Memphis.
Memphis went on a 14-3 run to trim New Yorkโs lead to three late in the third quarter, but New York answered with seven straight points and maintained a double-digit advantage for the rest of the game.

GG Jackson led the team with 20 points on 8 of 12 overall shooting and 3 of 4 from beyond the arc, along with three rebounds, four assists, and one block.
Olivier-Maxence Prosper had 17 points, four rebounds, one assist, two steals, and one block.
Cedric Coward added 15 points and one steal.
Javon Small scored 13 points on 4 of 5 overall shooting and 2 of 3 from beyond the arc, along with four assists and one steal.
Cam Spencer finished the night with 10 points, one rebound, a team-high eight rebounds, and one steal.
Off the bench, Adama Bal led with 11 points on 4 of 7 overall shooting and 3 of 5 from three-point range, along with two rebounds and two assists.
Walter Clayton Jr. put up 10 points, one rebound, and five assists.
