Re: “VFW Post 7175

It's not just your Grandpa's VFW Post anymore. I think so many people have the wrong idea about the VFW. I know I did. I thought it was just a small little bar with a lot of older men That were Veterans sitting around drinking beer swapping war stories, but don't get me wrong, there are quite a few Veterans from Vietnam, the Korean War, Desert Storm, and of course, the Iraqi War. And they do swap and share stories, but some are sad, many are touching, many are humorous, but what I get from hearing the m the most is a sense of safety, gratitude, and honor sitting and listening to a Veteran share personal stories. But when the lights turn down and the volume turns up, you are in a whole other place. Everyone has a great time. It's a more mature crowd, mostly 30's and up, so your with people who are there to have a great time, make memories, and friends. Not fighting and trying to start crap. Karaoke is so much fun and they have tge best karaoke team around. If you know anything about karaoke, then you have to know about Sherry-oke. So do yourself a favor, u f you are looking for a little less intensity, a little of havo by to squeeze by people to get to the bar, and a lot less of having to wait half an hour for a drink, give this VFW Post 7175 in Millington a try!! And the bonus is that all money made there goes to helping Veterans and their families (after overhead anyway). Can't beat a night on the town, a great time, and supporting a great and necessary cause.

Re: “VFW Post 7175

The VFW's Warrior Lounge in Millington is so much fun. They have karaoke every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights. It is the biggest and best beer and cocktail bar for miles and miles. They have Thirsty Thursday and Bike Might all in the same day, every Thursday. You get 2 for $4 domestic beer. They the best bartenders with great customer service skills, and nice to look at too. They have pool tabkes, dart boards, shuffleboard, bar top trivia games, hope in one, and my favorite, Friday Night Steak Night, with every 1st and 3rd Friday being Surf & Turf, lobster and steak. The prices in good and drinks cant be beat.

Re: “Miss Polly's Soul City Cafe

If you haven't tried Miss Polly's fried chicken you are definitely missing out. The flavor is the best! The service is great! Go give it a try. It gives that other place a run for its money. In my opinion it's better.

Re: “Blue Note Bar & Grill

Queen Ann and the Memphis Blues Masters are the best Blues band I have heard in quite some time. They are amazing!! The Blue Note Br & Grill is a fabulous place with an awesome atmosphere, if you like Memphis Blues. I will be there again and again, now that I live in Memphis.

Re: “Half Shell

So, last night my mother and I went to Half Shell on Winchester to grab a bite to eat. After the hostess sat us down we began to view the menu. As we are looking at the menu, a waiter walks up and asked what we wanted to drink. I hesitated because he just walked up out of no where and didn't even introduce himself. So, anyway, I ordered a VIP and my mother ordered sweet tea. He returned back with the drinks. He asked if we were ready to order and my mom replied, "no not yet" because she was still trying to make her decision. He left the table and returned maybe 10 minutes later. So, when he finally returned we began ordering our meals. My mother said, "I would like to order the Half Shell PoBoy." His response was "Um… well…. Half Shell has a lot of PoBoys" with a kind of snappy attitude. My mom and I looked at each other and she informed him that she would like blackened shrimp after skimming the menu fir her options. Anyway, we order our meals and we eat. As we are dining, two other couples came in one sat behind us and the other couple sat in front of us. Both couples were not African American. So, I immediately noticed that he was the waiter for both tables. I could hear him walk up to the tables, 1) introduce himself, 2) inform them of the specials, and even made suggestions. This pissed me off because their are still people out here that are extremely prejudice. His attitude and tone was completely different.

Anyone who knows me knows that I tip really well. I normally start at $5 and let you determine if it goes up or down. My mother suggested a $1 tip but knowledge is more powerful so I left him a tip. "You should not make a difference between white & black customers." His name was David (found that out from the receipt) and if you go in there I would not recommend him.

This clubhouse is super nice inside! I held my son's birthday here last year, and everyone had a great time. There is plenty of room, and they also have a pool & tennis court!

I love this club!! The owners are friendly, the staff was courteous and the drinks were great! Small atmosphere but definitely grown and sexy. Friday night is their most busiest nights. Loved the experience, would definitely go again!!!
