Re: “Documentary 1948: Creation and Catastrophe Explores the Roots of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

Draiman,
So full of bullshit don't know where to begin. Let's put it this way, if a bunch of Native Americans swarm your house kill a couple of your children and throw you into the street, whatcha gonna do, call the cops or God? If the Canaanites bust into your home in Palestine and do the same where is your logic going to lead you?
The issue here is not so much that a crazy mother like you is loose but that our government spends billions to feed your homicidal fantasy.

Re: “Documentary 1948: Creation and Catastrophe Explores the Roots of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria are Jewish territory - No annexation is required.
If anything it may need to be re-incorporated or re-patriated and Israels sovereignty applied and any Arab individuals committing terror and violence will be expelled and their assets confiscated to pay for the damages.
Let me pose an interesting scenario. If you had a country and it was conquered by various foreign powers over a period of time. After many years you have taken back you country and land in various defensive wars. Do you have to officially annex those territories? It was always your territory and by retaking control and possession of your territory it is again your original property and there is no need to annex it.
Jewish roots and rights to all the land of Greater Israel are stronger than ever!
If I am turned out of hearth and home and remain outside one night, I am legally entitled to return the following day. If I suffer for ten, twenty, five thousand or fifty thousand nights, does my right of return stand in inverse relationship to the length of my exile? Quite the contrary; my right to return and recover my freedom becomes stronger in direct proportion to what I have endured, not by virtue of some abstract arithmetic, but because of the nights spent in exile, and because I want my children, to be spared a similar experience.

Re: “Documentary 1948: Creation and Catastrophe Explores the Roots of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

throrough, detailed, clear...definitely a scholarly work, much moreso than history channel type of stuff, and it really tackles the topic of palestinian displacement over this time period with an honestly id never come across. with the amount of content and documentation they included, what they didnt have time for must be huge. given the time the events happened (1947-1949), this film and this project is likely the last time anyone can collect all the testimony and data into one place, the last time somehting like this could be done.

Re: “Music Video Monday: Eric Hughes

Chris, the CD release party is Saturday, October 21 at the Warehouse. Not Friday.
Nonetheless, it is a great honor to be featured, and we certainly do appreciate the help spreading the word! Thanks again!

Re: “Trafficked Gets Benefit Premiere In Memphis

There is no basically about it. They are locked in, beat, and doing it against their will. A brothel is a place that houses prostitutes, not slaves.

Re: “When Geeks Icons Collide: RiffTrax Takes On Doctor Who

Malco's website doesn't list a showing for the 24th at Paradiso. Sad, because I was unable to make the first showing!

Mainly, I'm just making sure I've got our new log-in process for comments down, but, as is so often the case, I find your reviews to be the go-to ones on just about every movie that comes down the pike. Where else can a reader get this kind of background? You da man.

Well said Sandyo. Also it's spelled 'suffragette' I think, Chris. Thanks.

Re: “Women's Rights Documentary Equal Means Equal Brings Fight To Memphis

Poignant and mercilessly informative about the state of women and girls now in America. Other nations have already codified similar Equal Rights Amendment language and have seen their Gross Domestic Product (GDP) soar. But not the USA. Not yet. JUST 2 MORE STATE LEGISLATURES VOTING FOR IT (RATIFYING IT) passes it into the US Constitution with a possible stop at US Congress, which years ago already ok'd it.

What's holding it up for 100 years? Waiting for macho partisanship to dry up. It not only has NOT, its noose has tightened over the 17 nonstop years i and my huge team of ERA Fighters, male and female, have ceaselessly advocated for states to ratify it, like Florida, Virginia, Illinois, N Carolina, Utah. NEVADA JUST DID! Just shows what a wise Democrat legislature can do when it's informed and Ready!

For those who realize that we women and girls will forever be delegated to 2nd class when it comes to directing our own lives, when you re-read the last sentence of the above paragraph, YOU WILL RECOGNIZE WHAT IT IS YOU MUST MUST DO to correct the balance of political votes in the remaining states SO THAT THIS AMENDMENT DOES GET GRANTED OPEN PUBLIC HEARINGS IT REQUIRES SO THAT FULL DISCUSSION OF IT THAT CLEARS UP THE ACTUAL FACTS AND DISMISSES ANTIQUE MYTHS THAT SERVE The Other Political Party's campaign money income and propaganda.

EQUAL RIGHTS AMENDMENT IS NOT NOT NOT DEAD, for example. Though The Opposing Party likes to voice that lie a lot, if hearings are not held, they can and do continue to tout the lies . And example, by Florida's Sen. Marco Rubio. Watch him diss us females and tell his favorite lie in this recent video:

Re: “Inaugurate The Resistance at Crosstown Arts

Nice to see it tie in with fund-raisers for women' health issues. Looks like that is where current 'reform' in the Trump administration is trying to save money. Inexplicably.

Re: “When "American Pickers" Met Prince Mongo

That cool messy guy played part in providing booze to my best friend 25 years ago after leaving an old club of his off Front Street, & while only 13 or 14 years old at the time, my best friend and another friend of his got on a motorcycle my friend thought he was more sober to operate, & while on I-55, Jared Sizemore of Kirby High School fell off the back loosing his life. When Timothy Rodemyer turned to look what happened, he also turned the handlebars, coasting him into a guardrail & breaking his neck killing him instantly on Labor Day, 1992. So, before many of you open your mouths to something that so obviously for decades has been an unraveling nightmare for the families involved, maybe you ought to think about so many other than just this example that over the years have been attempting to stop with this brat of a kid who never stopped rebelling against not getting his way, which caused some their lives as he roams a free 'it' of whatever you want to call this moron!

Re: “Never Seen It: Watching 1984 with the Political Cinema Club

I saw it when it first was released. And I agree with JB about Reagan. But by the time this film came out, it was obvious to me what political theatre politics really is. So the grimness of the film seemed an appropriate metaphor for how my 1970's youthful idealism had had all its color and brilliance washed-out by Reagan and his Blue Meanies. I think we were all adjusting to that lack of pop and verve right about then.

Re: “Memphis Wrestling Legend Jackie Fargo Dies

Charlotte, I remember so very well seeing Jackie wrestle from the time I was four, which was back in 1958 or 1959. Back then it was on one of the Birmingham stations in Alabama. Later I watched him a lot on TV in Huntsville as well as Chattanooga, Tennessee. I also watched him as We went live to the Von Braun Civic Center in Huntsville. Watched him for many years as I was glued to the TV every Saturday afternoon.....I would not miss it for the world.
Recently, and out of the blue, I had a dream about him. I think he is trying to get a message to me and I think i know what it is. Does this sound CRAZY, yes I am sure it does, but it is not. I would love to talk to you about it sometime, if any way possible. My name is John Lowden, the one on Facebook that lives in Glen Allen, VA.

Re: “When "American Pickers" Met Prince Mongo

Mongo's only danger ever was a messy homeowner and selling Boose to
Underage kids. He resides in Calif now. He is all an act on a stage. Calm down Jethro. He is a cool messy guy
