Re: “Memphis Wrestling Legend Jackie Fargo Dies

My name is buster Higgins, I remember walking downtown Nashville, one morning with my babysitter, I was 6 yrs. old. We walk by a liquor store, and I peek in, and there he was my hero, the king, Jackie Fargo. He looked at me and motioned me to come in, my babysitter took me in , and it was the most wonderful thing, I had ever dreamed of, getting to me mr fargo.i never to this day ever forgot it, I'm 62 yes. Old now, but he was the most kindest, and wonderful gentleman I had ever met. He had the kindest heart, he was my hero, I have his strut down pat now, Rest In Peace, mr fargo, I will never forget you.robert.higgins77@icloud.com

Re: “Politics and the Movies 4: Spartacus

Enjoyed your article on Spartacus. Kubrick and Trumbo made fantastic contributions to the making of the film. But in my mind Douglas's presence in front of and behind the camera hugely influenced the style, feel and messages conveyed in the movie. You may find my podcast on the movie "Spartacus the KD way" of interest. It also talks about the politics of the movie. It is the latest episode of Classic Hollywood MTC which can be found on ITunes, Stitcher, Tune-in and Spreaker.com. It can also be directly accessed via the following link:

Re: “Million Dollar Quartet Gets New Name, Premiere Date

The name change allows them to expand the story to other performers signed to and inspired by Sun Records. If the show is a hit, it gives them much more material for episodes/seasons and hopefully more work for the industry here in Memphis! Ike IS in that publicity photo, don't remember seeing him standing around the piano in the famous quartet photo.

Re: “Kubo and the Two Strings

The characters are fun and lovable, but also brave and dimensional. Not one character felt out of place and they're inclusion felt important. The voice casting is top-notch and I felt like the celebrities actually made an effort.

Re: “The Get Down

I'm not sure if he hates the Bronx, Nick. He wasn't even aware that this show was based there. It seems, however, that he views all poor, minority communities in NYC as one monotonous group. I'm not sure how you can so firmly say that an area was a hallucinatory war zone when you're not even correct on the location. It indicates that he did not actually do research on the history of the Bronx and therefore, wrote off the foundation of the plot as dramatized. Leaving me again to believe this review is biased and invalid.

Re: “The Get Down

For the record:

1. I have never had a pumpkin spice latte.
2. One Direction is a plague on humanity.
3. I watched the show, and stand by my review.

I claim my $10.

Re: “The Get Down

Diane/Michele,
Likely biased, you mean like he hates the Bronx?

Re: “The Get Down

The show takes place in the Bronx--not Brooklyn. Did you actually watch the show? They mention the South Bronx every episode. Did you even look at it's Wiki page? Your entire commentary is likely biased and therefore, invalid.
