Re: “Comedy Squared at Studio on the Square

Hey Chris, if you're interested in a MST3K type deal, I'll recommend Dirty Movies. Micheal Donahue wrote about us when he was with the appeal.
Out next show is Friday July 21st at 8, also, its free

Re: “Commercial Appeal Editor To Staff: "Work From a Coffee Shop."

Hey Cheryl! I can confirm that schedule having dropped you off and picked you up a time or two back in our school days. My WREG gig started at 3 a.m. Relevant daily content's demanding stuff.

Re: “Commercial Appeal Editor To Staff: "Work From a Coffee Shop."

It's not really a morning newspaper any more. It's an afternoon paper that comes out the next day.

Re: “Commercial Appeal Editor To Staff: "Work From a Coffee Shop."

Normal working hours at a morning newspaper? My shift at the CA was always 5:30 p.m to 1:30 a.m. That's when the work of putting the paper together happened.

Yeah like, uh, you know, there was that one sorta, maybe, kinda... Nope, sounds un-American.
The best we can hope for is a Viking invasion. Or if Jerry Brown wasn't such a dick sometimes.

Re: “Burger Week!

Growler's would have been a great place for the burger week. i missed it this time, but there sure are a lot of people who appreciate the place
Memphis as Chuck burgers are amazing, I'm happy to report, which is why I'm currently trying to stay away from them. I know I'd get horribly fat if I don't restain myself.

Re: “Fancy Art Critic "Knocked Out" by Memphis Pedestrian Crossings

I work downtown and have yet to see a single person sit at those tables. I think that says something when even the homeless population isn't using seating. Not to mention the brilliance of putting a bunch of tables and chairs on top of asphalt with absolutely no cover in the middle of summer.

It's a good thing that newsworthy events only happen during normal working hours!

Re: “Fancy Art Critic "Knocked Out" by Memphis Pedestrian Crossings

My Yorkie suffered from sensory processing disorder (SPD). Well, no longer. We went on a walk through the downtown area, upon reaching the intersection of Third and Peabody Place, my little Baxter's head exploded. I'm sure this could happen to small children too. "Visually brutal" is an understatement for my late Baxter, may he rest in peace.

The quality has declined to the point we are comsidering canceling our subscription. I hate to do it, weve been life long subscribers but our money is being wasted.

Well, that all depends on the relative, now doesn't it? After all, some of us are related to mad dog serial killers. Some of us.

Re: “Commercial Appeal Editor To Staff: "Work From a Coffee Shop."

It is easy to point out the many flaws in our local daily newspaper. But would you do that to a dying relative in hospice care? Geez dude, get up, you used to run marathons. I worked there for 13 years - got laid off in March. I am definitely not happy with the quantity and quality of The CA's journalism. Yet best not to be mean. It's dying.

Re: “Commercial Appeal Editor To Staff: "Work From a Coffee Shop."

Anybody read the article about Oak Court in the CA? It placed the mall on the "east side" and referred to residents as living on the "east side". Honest.
