Doing It Up Brown

Pictured are the seven candidates who will vie in the special Democratic primary Tuesday, October 8th, for the District 91 state House of Representatives vacancy created by the death this year of longtime state representative Lois DeBerry. From left to right and top to bottom: Kemba Ford, Joshua Forbes, Raumesh Akbari, Doris DeBerry Bradshaw, Terica Lamb, Clifford Lewis, and Kermit Moore. The seven participated in a forum Monday night at Magnolia First Baptist Church on Cooper. Moderated by Shelby County chancellor Walter Evans, the event featured articulate and unusually lengthy presentations by each candidate. See a fuller treatment of the forum and other aspects of the race in “Political Beat Blog” at memphisflyer.com.
