Barry L. Shankman is well versed in all aspects of production and post production of film, video, and audio since 1968. His skills include camera operation; colorist; editing; field producer; and DOP (The person responsible for maintaining the aesthetic and technical integrity of a film from pre production to presentation), among others. Executive Producer "Voice of Memphis Music " SVB CONSULTING SERVICES Mystic Moon Production & Distribution BLS FILM & VIDEO LLC FRIENDS & FAMILY of the MENTALLY ILL (501-c-3) Mr. Shankman has good working relationships with FOX; UNIVERSAL; PARAMOUNT; CASABLANCA; PARADISO FILMS (Caribbean); CAMMANDOR PRODUCTIONS (Moscow, Russia); GENIUS FILMS & 3D (Romania); as well as several independent film production companies through out the world. Having worked in various capacities on over 800 long format feature films, he best known for his restorations of GONE WITH THE WIND; NATIONAL VELVET; and MUTINY ON THE BOUNTY, to name a few. Additionally, he supervised the animation restoration for "ANIMA" of the DIAMOND PRINCESS. Barry, as a hands-on Line Producer and one of the first Inferno Artists, He was responsible for the successful first attempt to take this type of film from original cut negative to finished 2K product to be recorded back to film in a LASER FILM RECORDER. In the 1960's Barry briefly owned STAX records and from that time through today he has been a nominating member of the GRAMMY (NARAS) AWARDS as well as the LATIN GRAMMY AWARDS (LARAS) During the 1970’s, he worked for ABC INTERNATIONAL TELEVISION starting as an AUDIO ENG for the news; moving to camera operator for GENERAL HOSPITAL; and eventually being hired by the RONALD REAGAN for President Campaign production as DOP for their television campaign commercials. In the 1980’s he helped develop techniques used with Korean and Japanese animation companies , working as supervisor of post production and quality control traveling between the USA, Singapore, Bangkok and Hong Kong. Early in the 1990’s Barry and his wife owned and operated a low power television station, K53DU in the LA basin. He also served as the Technical Director for the HI DEF broadcast of the Tournament of Roses Parade. Currently, Mr. Shankman, and his wife Betty, own and devote their time to a 501-C3 (non-profit) “Friends and Family of the Mentally Ill”. They develop films for the use of families touched by mental illness providing information enabling them to navigate through the maze of the Mental Health System. Barry L. Shankman has consulted, designed, built and trained staff for state-of-the art production and post production facilities all over the world from Moscow to New York; Hollywood to London; Puerto Rico; Brazil; Romania; as well as the United States. Having been one of the developing partners for interactive video and streaming content for major portals and motion picture companies, he now consults with major content and e-commerce companies on e-education and e-video-streaming. Mr. Shankman is an active member of MENSA,TIG,CML,APP,FCP-L,RED-USER-GROUP
