"Born to Run" Christopher Mcdougall. True story that also takes place in the Mexican Sierra Madre, the Copper Canyon specifically. It's about a reclusive tribe in the mountains and ultra-distance running. Sports, science, history, adventure- it's all here. The best book I've read all year.
