Re: “Chairman Carson Bows to Demands of Democratic Party Committee and Resigns

A very sad day, indeed, for the Shelby County Democratic Party in more ways than one.

Re: “Obstructing From Within

In the interest if journalistic integrity, controversial and misleading articles such as this one should always be accompanied by an opposing opinion to give a balanced picture.

Re: “Luttrell: County’s Glass “Half Full,” But More Money Needed

The glass needs to be smaller, Mr. Mayor! No more taxes, please . There needs to be reality added to the formula and a budget prepared within our means, just like in our households. I'll gurantee if they get all the money they ask for, they will spend every cent and will be back for even more next year. It's time to say NO loudly, just like with a misbehaving child.

Re: “Fold by Memphis Democrats Opened Door to 2012 Suburban Vote on Schools

Reportedly, the reason Parkinson signed the conference report and voted for the bill was because he didn't wish to deny the suburbanites their right to vote. It's no more complicated than that, but the Flyer version makes a better story.

Re: “Norris' School Bills Finally Get Through

Jackson: I was equally shocked by the performance of Mr. Towns, and the entire Memphis delegation, including Mr. Hardaway, for that matter. It was clear their efforts were orchestrated and designed to obstruct, not contribute to the process. It was sad to watch and realize why Memphis is viewed with such disrespect...they work so hard to earn it.
