Re: “COVID-Related Suit Filed Against Sheriff’s Office on Inmates’ Behalf

Us CJ workers have been told by the criminal class that we are not allowed to incarcerate them unless they do a serious crime like murder.

Re: “Case Rate Falls Even On Big Testing Day

Thanks to the medical professionals, researchers, grocers, et al. I have a little survival guilt since I'm a computer guy that gets to work from home. I have found myself out of work when other financial crisis have hit, so I know the frustration of being all reved up and no place to go.

Re: “Graceland Reopens Thursday; Number of Visitors Limited

Priscilla Presley is a scientologist, and she has cleared all of her engrams, and therefore she cannot possibly catch Covid 19. Through mind control and discipline, she can vanquish negative fields out of Graceland. Everyone will be safe.

Re: “Thinning the Herd: Americans are the Dumbest People on Earth

I am so glad I am a computer jockey and can easily work from home. I do feel for those unfortunate people that have lost jobs through no fault of their own and feeling the financial stress, and the anger of being unemployed. I have been there myself.

Re: “People Are Biking, Walking More Amid Pandemic

My dogs are enjoying me working from home. One or two walks a day. Lots of opportunities to smell other dogs' butts.

Re: “DeBerry Case Highlights Questions of Party Loyalty

Crack, that is sort of like the line Ty said to Judge Smales in Caddyshack.

I have met and chatted with G.A. Hardaway and I am glad to see intelligent young people like Raumesh Akbari take leadership positions. It appears they agree with me that committees and busy bodies should not pick winners and losers, but the voters should during the election.

Bakerspond, I agree with you. But, it was a dirty trick to wait after the filing deadline to kick DeBerry out before he had a chance of running as an independent or Republican. I think those slicksters are gonna get some bad karma. They broke the golden rule, treat others like you would like to be treated.

State politics mirror national politics. Many Bernie voters stayed at home on 2016 because they felt that the super delegates and power brokers in smoked filled back rooms predetermined that Hillary was to be anointed as the nominee. We all know what happened next.

It is obvious the state dems have really screwed themselves. It I remember right, the last statewide election victory was for the second term of Phil Bredesen in 2006. And then Bredesen, without a doubt the most electable democrat, lost the senate race to a Republican back bencher.

Sure they may get to shoe horn in one of their suck ups to replace DeBerry this cycle. But what is the end game? Do you think the Republican super majority is going to allow a newbie dem any choice committees? Also, I imagine Townes, Akbari and Hardaway won't give the newbie much love. Over a quarter century of tenure is hard to replace.

I think of state politics as an airplane. The Republicans are most of the airframe and all of the power plant. DeBerry may have been somewhat of a rudder. The newbie won't even be a trim tab.

I cannot stop thinking of that old Reagan quip and how it must appear to DeBerry. "I did not leave the democratic party, the democratic party left me."

Naw, don't thank me for continuing service to the Black community. I'm afraid I am as useless to Blacks as the Tennessee Democratic Party and Steve Cohen.
