Re: “Federal Legislation Would Ban Greyhound Racing Nationwide

I think we can, and must, worry about more than one thing at a time. Other issues, both large and small, won't wait until we've solved the major issues. I waited 30 minutes on the phone today to have a chance and voice my support for a state bill that bans the import of dead, or parts of, iconic African wildlife. Does that mean I'm not fully in support of resolving the COVID-19 pandemic, or fully committed to racial equality and justice? No, and I can also care about what happens to the people and animals involved in the greyhound-racing industry as that industry winds down. Those people and animals deserve help in their transition to a new life, maybe more so now during these unprecedented times than ever.

Re: “Federal Legislation Would Ban Greyhound Racing Nationwide

Some people are commenting that "smart pro dog-racing people" are blocked from commenting, when there is clearly a post from a pro dog-racing person. And I have to say, how can a pro dog-racing person be considered "smart" to begin with? There's nothing smart about supporting animal cruelty.

Re: “Federal Legislation Would Ban Greyhound Racing Nationwide

First: "New federal legislation would end greyhound racing nationwide and also ban the use of live animals for greyhound training." Second: “Greyhound racing will soon end in the United States, and this bill allows for a managed phase-out of the activity to enable planning to provide homes for the dogs and certainty for the owners, workers, and breeders in the industry,” It seems some people haven't read the article before commenting.
