There is more to this. Everyone is making sense, but it is interesting how many of the comments begin by saying this is not a good company to work for. There is more to know. What was the contract between the company and these employees? What were the company's responsibilities beyond the paycheck? What made the employees think they would not be treated fairly? How was the company communicating with this team to support the success of their work and its value to the patient? Was all of the work done at the company, or did some of these individuals contribute work or ideas they had developed before they joined the company? Engineers are highly analytical people who have worked hard to develop their careers - it is difficult to believe they took this step lightly.
