Re: “Interim Administrator Chosen to Lead Memphis Animal Services

OK, so he's got leadership skills? I didn't see anything in the article about the animals. I didn't see anything about improving their welfare. Nothing about breed discrimination against pit bulls. I sure didn't see anything about whether he has pets. With all the bad vibes surrounding this shelter and the crap going on it seems like they might want to improve their image a little. Can't they actually put someone in charge who is for animals and their welfare? Is this man related to some of the other higher ups, just what does he have to offer other than "leadership skills"? I don't think working at the Post Office gives him any experience in helping the shelter. They say interim, ok, we all know that will probably turn into permanent. There are plenty of sucessful rescues which have good leadership, why not appoint one of those people or at least offer them the opportunity? They would actually know about the animals and how to treat them. And what about the one who ordered all pits or any dogs that looked like pits to be killed? What happened to her? Sorry, I don't understand where these people are coming from. I sure hope I am wrong, but I don't see anything that says compassion on his face. It's time we start fitting people who have experience in a specific area to that specific job. At least they did mention the protest in the article.
