Re: “Lawsuit: New Lethal Injection Method 'Like Being Burned Alive on the Inside'

Actually, Midazolam, also marketed under the name Versed, can be quite effective if given in the proper dose. No, it's not a pain killer, it's in the benzo family, used to induce sleepiness and relaxation. If a big enough dose is administered, it should effectively knock the individual out.

Re: “Gebre Waddell's Soundways

Kudos to Gebre, and to the Flyer for recognizing his accomplishments. I would be remiss if I didn't add a disclaimer. Gebre Waddel did a fantastic job mastering Low Society's (my band) latest album,'Sanctified', which I produced. The album actually made the short list for Grammy consideration in the Contemporary Blues category, thanks in no small part to Gebre's outstanding mastering work (and Will Danger's engineering)!

Re: “Fly on the Wall 1419

If you read George Klein's great book about Elvis, you'll hear about Colonel Parker turning down the Star Is Born offer. He didn't give a hoot that E wanted the role. Broke his heart....

Re: “The Easley-McCain Era

I'm absolutely dumbfounded that Mr. Boone neglected to tell his readers that the "former Easley-McCain studio on Deadrick" is alive, well and better than ever. He goes on to tell us that "the studio was lost to fire in 2005. The owner opted not to rebuild." Wrong. The current caretakers have completely restored the studio and have reverted it to the original name, American Recording Studio. It's strength lies in the amazing 'live' room, which has a magical sound, and vibe for days. World class equipment and top quality engineering complete the picture. I would hardly be exaggerating if I told you it's the crown jewel of Memphis recording studios.
