Re: “Zoo President Calls Strickland Proposal 'Disappointing,' Wants 'Status Quo'

Cost burden sharing is an issue?!!! Of all of the parking fees collected from Zoo for parking on the Greensward over the years, how much of that revenue did the Zoo share with the OPC? Only #FiveBuckChuck would think it's fair for the OPC to now split the cost burden for a problem HE created while never thinking of sharing the revenue he enjoyed while creating the problem — all while still taking millions of dollars of taxpayer-based subsidies. It's not the OPC that expanded operations with multi-million dollar exhibits WITHOUT expanding available parking. The OPC doesn't need expanded parking. THE ZOO DOES! So why should the OPC share the cost burden?

And yes, sometimes parking on the grass is allowed at Audubon Park for special events like the Crafts Fair and Live At The Garden. The Zoo's daily operation is not a special event like those though. There are no permanent ruts in Audubon from the parking for those events; it's not an ongoing, daily occurrence like the Zoo's use of the Greensward.

I've been a fan of the Zoo for decades, but never want to visit again as long as it has the stench of FiveBuckChuck in the air.

Re: ““Judge Joe Brown” Uncorks a Shocker, Taunting Weirich About Her Sexuality

When you have the facts on your side, argue the facts. When you have the law on your side, argue the law. When you have neither, holler.

Re: “Letter From the Editor

That mug shot is the happiest image I've ever seen of Ms. Brooks. She looks so much better and should try to smile more often. Life's too short to be angry all the time. If I see Ms. Brooks, I plan on giving her the biggest smile I can and hope she returns it.

Re: “Benghazi Syndrome

Actually the GOP and their propaganda branch, Fox News, deserve some credit for removing the attack on the Cairo embassy from the Benghazi narrative. The attack in Egypt which was occurring at the same time was clearly based on the anti-islamic video on YouTube. It was an elementary judgement in the immediate aftermath to connect the two attacks and declare that video was the catalyst for both. However, the GOP and Fox News have now successfully spun the facts to make it appear that the video as a catalyst for the Libya attack was a total fabrication. They also have successfully transferred the fact that the Libyan embassy is in Tripoli to it being in Benghazi. The true failure of the Obama administration is allowing the GOP and Fox News the ability to successfully go Goebbels.
