Re: “Paula Deen and Tunica

I agree with you Georgia Peach. It is all about the money. I loved Paula Deen's restaurant and continued to eat there even after I heard the controversy surrounding her. The food is good and the ambiance is welcoming. I am a black woman and do not think she is a racist. She's simply a product of her generation and Southern upbringing. I ate at her used-to-be restaurant in Tunica today and was a little saddened by the stripping of her name. I managed to get one of her "Our Hoes Are Complimentary" t-shirts that was reduced to 50% off. I admire anyone who can admit publicly that they've used certain words behind closed doors. Who hasn't? She told the truth. Not a smart move but admirable nonetheless. Anyone else probably would've lied. Let her make it and leave her alone.
