Let them also look into special education & Section 504 violations, along with harassment of teachers & students.

It makes them look as if they're doing something good. Good idea: track this to see what the data shows.

Re: “Fines for Marijuana Possession Sealed in City Council Vote

Good decision. It sounds like this leaves a lot to the officer's discretion regarding consequences for possession of less than 1/2 ounce of marijuana. Surely there needs to be more guidance about criteria for decision-making or a plan for developing some. As it is, this leaves potential loopholes that could be harmful.

Re: “Another Anti-Abortion Bill Is Filed In Tennessee General Assembly

And have all the legislators who support this bill take at least two kids under five to work daily and supervise the homework and after school care for 3-5 more DAILY for a month. Then decide whether to support access to low cost and reversible birth control for all, plus prenatal care, etc., for all pregnant moms.

Re: “Another Anti-Abortion Bill Is Filed In Tennessee General Assembly

Long term, reversible (IUD) birth control is more effective in every way - cost & prevention. These men need to stop trying to force their dominion over women's bodies. And since they're in the legislature, have them do a report on the costs of large families among the poor, the educational, vocational and economic attainment in poor communities. Oh, and include health care, ER vs. prevention & good access while they're at it. Then, put in place programs that provide access to good health & education, etc., in communities that choose to grow smaller and more effective and more sustainable for the long term. THAT'S how government should get involved. And include meaningful public private partnerships. The models are there. Prove yourselves worthy of your jobs and stop messing in the right to choose.
