"What must we do to persuade others that race is not a factor in the drive for municipal schools?"

Judging from many of the comments that were posted on the CA website when all this began, there is little doubt that race is a motivating factor for the suburbs actions. I say that meaning the race of the leaders of the schools, not the race of the children attending the schools.

It was made quite plain that the suburbs didn't want "those" people in Memphis being in charge of your children's school board. I agree most of you dont seem to mind if your children attend school with kids of other races, so long as YOUR race is the one in charge of running things
