Re: “Fight Over Forrest Statue Isn't Over

@John Spain: "Most people find the statue offensive because they've been misinformed for years by the media, or they don't know the full story. The story of Forrest becoming a Christian, having a change of heart, and dedicating his later years to repairing race relations in the South.

Forrest's speech to the Independent Order of Pole-Bearers Association July 5, 1875..."

Unless you argument is totally insincere, John Spain (that is to say, total b.s.), you and other supporters of the long dead Nathan Bedford Forrest as "a Christian" should not have any problem with both removing the remains and statue of Nathan Bedford Forrest from the Health Sciences Park in the Medical District and the reburial of the Forrest and his wife under simple grave markers --- sans any Confederate flags and symbols --- within an area historical African-American cemetery.

Re: “Fight Over Forrest Statue Isn't Over

@John Spain: "Let's not be fooled. Let's consider the real reason this has become an issue. The UT Medical Center desperately wants the land the park sits on to expand their campus. THAT is the reason Forrest Park is in the crosshairs, not some altruistic desire to "do good" by our corrupt City Council."

I reside across the state in East Tennessee (actually live closer to Canada than I do to Memphis) and I support the repurposing and renaming of Forrest Park for the expansion of the UT Medical Center - it seems to me that most residents of your city would be city would be in favor of advancing the good of all your living residents instead of blocking progress and deifying the mostly evil acts of a long dead individual.

Re: “Father and Sons Indicted in $18 Million "Mystery Babylon" Scheme

The Feds should investigate as to why Rep. Matthew Hill and/or other former IRN USA News network employees under Larry Gates deleted the archived "The Matthew Hill Show" podcasts from both the IRN USA News network web site and the Apple iTunes podcast web site.

Re: “Father and Sons Indicted in $18 Million "Mystery Babylon" Scheme

Many of the IRN USA News archived podcast files --- at least under "The Matthew Hill Show" program hosted by TNGA Rep. Matthew Hill --- were deleted from both the IRN USA News archives and from "The Matthew Hill Show" podcast archive at the Apple iTunes web site around the time of the earlier and related civil suit that surfaced around 2011.

In additional to hosting his own "The Matthew Hill Show" radio broadcast/internet podcast via cell phone from Nashville while the Tennessee General Assembly was in session, Rep. Matthew Hill also guest hosted for Larry Bates and Chuck Bates on the IRN USA News "News & Views" program:

Rep. Matthew Hill's "The Matthew Hill Show" also featured commercials with advertising for First American Monetary Consultants.

Re: “Haslam, Ramsey State Positions on Meth, Medicaid, Vouchers, Guns, and More

So from what hillbilly law school did that slack-jawed yokel Ron Ramsey graduate? The Blountville Moose Lodge?
