My vote went to Johnson not Trump.

Re: “Q&A: A Sit Down with Co-Owner of Slim and Husky's

I call out bigotry wherever and whenever I see it....whether its racial, religious, ethnic, or any other bigoted and/or racist idealogy....which is why I added the correction above and why I called this out.

Its ironic that you are so insensitive that you don't even realize how offensive you are. When you have some free time one day, why don't you go visit a food pantry, a homeless shelter or any other place that caters to the less fortunate. There are lots of overweight people (please note I said overweight not fat). There white overweight people, black overweight people, asian overweight people, hispanic/latin overweight people. Being overweight is no indication that you don't need food or help. So yes if they refused to serve a person in need because they looked at them and said "he or she is fat" and therefore doesn't need food...then yes they would be total jerks.

Ironically even your silly example of a man who wants a cervical exam is a bit hateful, as there are people out there that truly do need and/or want to be women who were born genetically men. So even that example is offensive, because most people believe that we should be sensitive in talking about subjects like that. Clearly I am not talking about you, because you seem to be an insensitive jerk who thinks snarky comments about overweight people and transgender people are funny. In any event, while speaking of jerks....the owners of this pizza place are bigoted jerks and I hope they are out of business in a year.

Correction: I will send my business/money to the new pizza place in Wiseacre...unless I hear they have any policies that happen to be bigoted/racist as well.

Re: “Q&A: A Sit Down with Co-Owner of Slim and Husky's

Wow you thought that comment was so slick you had to post it twice? Yeah not so much.

I call out bigots of all sizes, shapes, beliefs, and yes colors. My question to you would be why would they refuse a slice of pizza to a fat icelandic dude? That sounds like d!@$ move to me. As far as your hypothetical cervical exam...you completely lost me there.

To borrow a concept from Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart....I know bigotry when I see it. Hiring ONLY people of one race is exactly the opposite of being inclusive. In fact I would imagine that in doing so, they will naturally attract people who would naturally lean towards being bigoted to apply for jobs there. So I won't be eating here. I will send my business/money to the new pizza place in Wiseacre.

Re: “Q&A: A Sit Down with Co-Owner of Slim and Husky's

@crackoamerican: Yeah I know...call me crazy but I just don't like bigots. Lets try this the other way and see what you think about it:

Was hiring all-white staff, building laborers and skilled workers intentional?

Very Intentional. We believe in ownership, as well as keeping the dollars in our communities. So we purchased this building, and we developed it with White and Associates, spending the development of dollars with other white-owned companies. Because we want to build our communities and build our culture and show people that we can do things on our own. That was very important to us. I think we're responsible for the exclusion process before anybody else. America no longer does a great job of including us. We’re not the type of businessman and not gonna sit back and wait. We want to make things happen for ourselves in our community.

Sorry but if you can't swap out basically one word without it sounding racist....its racist. Or if you are one of those that doesn't believe AA can be racists...then fine its bigoted.

"Was hiring all-black staff, building laborers and skilled workers intentional? Very Intentional."

Can you imagine if someone did the same thing in reverse and then admitted to it in a newspaper? There would be picket lines, maybe rioting....yet somehow its okay to do this in reverse? How again is that not racist?

Re: “Union to See Major Reconstruction, Public Input Wanted

Should be interesting...Union seems to get worse every year and with downtown to be seemingly booming that trend would seem to continue. After reducing Madison to 1 lane each way and with talks of doing the same to Peabody, that will just accentuate that issue. Seems like the bike-friendly people and the downtown growth people are not coordinating their efforts in the planning of our roads. You cannot both increase traffic and decrease roads at the same time unless you just WANT a traffic disaster.
