Re: “Memphis Animal Services Advisory Board Discusses Shelter Cleanliness, Failure To Answer Phones

DELIRIOUS. WHAT spay & neuter programs??? Love the idea of an actual receptionist or phone manager. These meetings get more ridiculous. What about some fresh advisory board members like T. Bailey that want to make a difference too! Oh I could go on and on. Thanks for covering this Bianca!

Re: “Letters To The Editor

Zero? really? It would have been GREAT for her to mention the upcoming events, had she been responded to by the volunteer coordinators. I thought Biannca's article was very balanced actually. I, personally,do not know anyone that "bad mouths" the staff, or volunteers. We spend our time and energy on the animals, and the governmental changes to benefit the staff and animals. Sorry, but you wont see that many of us volunteers or rescue groups on saturday afternoons because we are always at Petco's or Petsmart's doing adoption events, home checks for adoptions or doing TNR projects. However, if you would like to meet any of us on our lunch hours at least once a week, or from 5-7 on Tuesdays and Thursdays you will certainly see what we are facing as well. I could bring you some more entertaining stuffed animals. I keep extras with leashes and cat carriers in my 2 seater car that I purchase weekly for the scared babies that I transport/adopt/rescue from MAS. Did you meet the 2 couples we sent from Petco there last month? they adopted 2 kittens each!! Id also like to offer kudos to what the STAFF is doing right now as far as operations, and communicating with all of the volunteers, rescues, and public. They have their hands tied by the city and there are some compassionate people there, we just have to work as a team and continue to support the animals. Did I miss anyone at the Advisory Meeting wed night? I will continue to park around back and walk around so all those parking spaces will stay open for the public. Sometimes its difficult though loading and unloading animals & donations. By the way, VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION ON SEPT 24TH...please share that as well as the discounted adoptions. We need volunteers. Thanks again Biannca for sharing a balanced article and if we can all stop the nonsense, we may can at least get the shelter from being the worse one in america.
