Re: “Memphians Sued for Movie Piracy

I don't blame those guys. Why should people have to pack together in a room to enjoy the newest movie? Also, people spend an additional hour or more of their life having to drive there, wait in line, and sit through all the advertisements. The MPAA needs to understand that most people who download pirated movies don't do it because it's free, but that they would rather enjoy the movie in the comfort of their own home. I avoid going to the theater as much as I can, it's just not enjoyable to drive through traffic only to pack into a smelly room, listen to people chew and open candy wrappers throughout the entire movie. When the MPAA decides to try to release a movie directly to dvd, that's when I will be against movie piracy. There will always be people pirating movies no matter what, but there will always be people purchasing them as well. Are you going to arrest the kid who climes a tree to watch a ballgame? Some people will pay, and some people won't pay. If the MPAA doesn't like that people aren't paying to cram themselves into a room to watch their movie, then maybe they shouldn't bother to even make them.
