Re: “Left Behind: The Death of Progressive Radio in Memphis

Quoth Gadfly: "The Young Turks is excellent..." As the saying goes, there's no accounting for taste. Compared to Morning Sedition (and the Mark Riley show which succeeded it) and Rachel Maddow, The Young Turks was a lousy substitute. Seemingly constant references to Jill Pike's sex life turned me off, and the Turks constant shilling for Harold Ford, Jr. turned me off, and I stopped listening to them before Election Day, 2006. By that time, I'd gone from listening to AirAm all day, to only tuning in to Franken. When Franken quit, I was gone. And now I see Mark Riley is no longer associated with AirAm. Well, goodbye and good riddance, I say.

Re: “FROM MY SEAT: St. Louis Spirit

Hey, some of us are old enough to remember watching "El Birdos" in the '67 and '68 World Series... DURING SCHOOL HOURS, when the nuns in my school would roll the TV into the classroom, and we'd just watch the game (because they knew we certainly weren't paying attention to our studies for those seven games. Unfortunately, those are experiences that modern schoolchildren will never get to share, again.
