Re: “Fishing for Funding

RDC is taking a bum rap here. The agency has been instrumental in the revitalization of the river front and with the development of the crown jewel, the BSL, fully implemented a real reason for locals to flock down to the river becomes a reality.

Re: “A Busy Cohen Shows He's No Mere Talking Head

All these efforts will be for naught if the number of African American candidates in the race in 2008 number beneath five. Divide and conquer won't work this time.

Re: “Morris On Filling MLGW Post: Wait Until After the Election

Herman Morris is not being completely honest the assessment he offers of his tenure at MLGW. In reality the "Third Party Notification" was started on his watch. He even had I believe his sister and niece and maybe other relatives included on that list. Disclosed during the Joseph Lee investigation was the fact that he offered the editor of the Commercial Appeal preferential treatment as it relates to a water bill. Also brought out was his decision to invest millions of rate payer dollars in the Memphis Networxx project that appear to have been lost. He has the reputation of not being much of a lawyer and he is seeking this office so he doesn't really have to attempt to make a living practicing law. If I had to choose between Dr. Herenton and Morris, my choice is Doc every time.

Re: “POLITICS: The Fields Case

Sure the two of you agree with each other. You used the same basis to decide which candidate to cast your ballot for in the State Senate race. As Cracker mentioned, yes called the actions of those parties who were unable to see past the color of the candidates in the race 'bigots' because that is exactly what they are. And I have also said that if AA now point out acts of racism they are called "racist" for seeing it. That is exactly what the two of you have done here. I am not race baiting not at all, but I did learn a valuable lesson in the Senate race. That lesson is whit folks in Memphis of either political vote solely down racial lines no matter the party affiliation. Doesn't matter whether the AA candidate has credentials out the ying yang. If he can not overcome the one thing that matters, his/her black skin then he can not count on the votes of white people. Let's see how well Barack Obama does with the Midtown "liberals". Cracker you keep talking about Marrero raising a family and running a business. Well, I have heard she ran that business right into bankruptcy. As a matter of fact she has filed for bankruptcy on two separate occasions. Is that true? Now provide a direct answer to that direct question. I know you won't because you never answer questions directly. On top of the fact that her education credentials are none existent, her business acumen is questionable. As far as Spence having not been able to represent the poorer areas of the City and will only represent the downtown business interest. That is a bunch of hogwash. Robert Spence campaigned all over District 30. He campaigned in Bethel Grove, Cherokee, and Orange Mound some of the lowest income areas of the District. Can you say Marrero personally made any forays into those areas? You won't answer that question because you never do. Give me an answer of any type you won't because you never do. Yes the election has been decided, and Marrero won. But the win was based just I said initially, on 'white racism' and ‘black apathy’. You guys are now calling for party unity. What the heck is that? There no unity when the black man represents the "party". Ask all those judicial and court clerk candidates and now you can also ask Robert Spence.

Re: “POLITICS: The Fields Case

Madame, you are lost. You are so far out of the loop. Yes, Field's likes black women, but so did most of the whte slave masters, probably just like your ancestors. Suffice it to say, you are too far behind to be brought up to speed.

Re: “POLITICS: The Fields Case

Cracker, you're a bigot. You know it and I know. We have debated this issue extensively and you have never provided any substantive FACTS to support your belief Marrero was more qualified. The basis for your support and the white "liberals" like you is race. To back up my position here is a quote from Polar Donkey that you whole heartedly agreed with "Cohen’s election has come at a cost to white Democrats. Cohen broke the unspoken agreement of white democrats holding seats like Senate District 30 and House District 93." You and Upton and the rest of the Mid Town "liberals" are supporters of the party standard bearer as long as that person is white. I have gotten over it, but that does not negate the fact that your support for the housewife and business owner with the GED over the doctor/lawyer is racially motivated. Oh BTW, tell the Congressman '08 is coming very fast. He should enjoy his office while he has it.
