theres surely nothing dying about this art.
while i disagree with quite a lot of what is said in this article, i think its still good in the areas that may point people to distinguish unnecessary vandalism from an urban art medium.
graffiti has been present in memphis in a good way for about 15 years now, but artists like codak, humor, jeva, diem, natx, even mest, aede and adecs (later) were the true pioneers in memphis graffiti.
a lot of negativity has been brought to memphis graffiti thanks to UH, but thats sort of the nature of the beast.
it seems that a lot of them are growing up and learning from their past mistakes and why DA crew laid low and didnt try to turn this city into NYC with scrawls and throw ups. destruction isnt the way of artistic creation.
