Re: “Was this Woman Elvis' Girlfriend?

A pill-popping mama's boy hillbilly from Tupelo - as a previous comment states - says more about the author than the artist. Ok so Elvis took prescription drugs - the world knows - get over it. I checked out other artists on a similar par to Elvis but who took Class A drugs ie Heroin etc, artists such as Johnny Cash, Kirk Cobain and Johnny Ray and guess what - drugs are only mentioned about a third of the way down - yet Elvis gets it written in the first paragraph before any of his many achievements. Elvis Presley was an incredible artist and should be remembered as such - the 'shocking' drugs story that some authors insist on writing should be tossed in the proverbial and the author should get himself back to writing school and look up originality.

Re: “Elvis Versus James Brown: Who's the King?

Both of these fine artists deserve recognition in their own right - they brought immense pleasure to billions of listeners - why must we compare. If I had to choose however, it would be Elvis Presley, not only for his 'label' King of Rock n Roll, but also for bringing to light so many stles of music that the masses might not have heard or learned to appreciate such as Gospel, and yes, Rythm and Blues.
