A full-page ad in the March issue of the Downtowner, a magazine that focuses on the wonders of downtown living, features a largish picture of MATA president/general manager William Hudson Jr., along with several smaller images of the MATA board of commissioners. A blurry caption reads, The MATA board and staff congratulate Will Hudson as none of the Downtowners of the Decade. No doubt the sentiment is shared by any number of Memphians who actually have to use the MATA system as their primary means of transportation.
