Bug Cookoff 

When: Sat., July 24, 10 a.m. 2010
An Iron Chef-style cooking contest held in conjunction with the museum’s insect-centric exhibit “Harry’s Big Adventure: My Bug World!” A “bug chef” from the Audubon Insectarium of New Orleans will be facing local chefs — among them, Owen Brennan’s Scott DeLarme — to make the best entrée and dessert using bugs.

Past dishes from other contests have included tarantula tempura, so this should be interesting. Donations will be made in the chefs’ names to MIFA’s Meals on Wheels program.
