Re: “County Commission Committee Urges No More "Letters of Intent" for Bass Pro/Pyramid Deal

Forget Bass Pro NOW! Tonite! They're questionable. With a store in Knoxville, another "proposed" for N Little Rock, and the flagship in Springfield MO, what's special enough to bring masses of people to Memphis? Nothing special enough to draw people from Ashville NC (just stop in Knoxville), or from Dallas (just stop in NLRA) or St. Louis (just bop over to Springfield). Here's an investor that's tried for three years... He's serious, he has financing, he has a dream. This is something to draw folks from Ashville, Dallas, St. Louis. Terminate the "letter of questionable intent" immediately!

Re: “Toyota Plant is NFL Franchise for Memphis Area...

Except for the profanity, I agree. W.TN has been and is being treated as a step child. What significant help have mid- and east-TN been to west-TN lately? What are we likley to loose if we're not getting any help from "them" anyway? Come on leaders. Be leaders and help get Toyota here. If Toyota goes to Chatt. it won't help us here! Regionalism? I grew up in DeSoto Co. and was pulling for regionalism 35 years ago. I live inside the loop now and love it. I want Toyota in metro-Memphis. Toyota's presence would not directly affect the businesses I own in Memphis, but indirectly it would. I employ 15 people and want to prosper so I can hire more. I want Toyota HERE in tri-state, regional Memphis; NOT in some distant city in "north Georgia".
