Re: “Begging for Change

So the COM, in an effort to handle less, gives seed money to 501. They will fund homeless project with money from the federal government, county government, faith-based community programs, and various charitable foundations. Ok...since the homeless now receive food stamps couldn't the COM provide one free shelter? At least then a few homeless could start to ease back into society without having to worry about food and shelter. The 501 could continue to seek funding. The COM needs to do more. Food and Shelter are important.

So, COM in an effort to handle less, gives seed money to 501 to seek monies on the state and federal levels and from local businesses to fund the homeless. OK...since the homeless now rec. Food Stamps, the city could at least provide a free shelter. That would take care of food and shelter for a few to start their way back into society while the 501 seeks more money. Food and shelter are important.

Re: “O.V. Wright Remembered

This article exemplifies the very essence of what is the legendary Memphis music scene. Those who contributed so much in aiding this city become the soul and blues music capitol of the world. Whether it is regarded as such internationally simply means we have to do a much better PR and marketing job. Thanks to Preston for the article on Jimmy Lunceford spotlighting Katheryn Perry Thomas as well. These are the type of articles and events that should definitely be seen by the international media! ''CONGRATULATIONS''
