DeAngelo Draws Memphis Viewers 

Now that DeAngelo Williams is on the roster, the Carolina Panthers apparently are becoming Memphis' NFL team. Commercial Appeal sportswriter Ron Higgins suggested as much in a recent column, and judging by TV ratings for the Panthers' most recent exhibition game, he was on target.

Memphis was the fifth-highest rated market watching the game in the nation with a 10.0 rating. In Charlotte, the rating was 21.6. Overall, the national rating was 5.1.

For the second straight year, Sports Illustrated has picked the Carolina Panthers to win the Super Bowl. Can DeAngelo's magic overcome the dreaded SI jinx? We know you'll stay tuned.
