A visit to the new DeJaVu on South Main.

The new restaurant is near Flight on South Main.
The space is larger than the Florida location, but is still charming, cozy. The exposed brick and folk art on the walls fit the Creole aesthetic.
The view from the second floor, which offers additional seating.
I went for what I think of as a "greatest hits" -- a vegetable plate with four sides ($9). Among the offerings are an excellent grilled cabbage and this smothered okra.
The fried plantains are another favorite.
Of course, my plate included red beans and rice.
Bianca ordered the "Tofu Your Way" ($9)lightly fried tofu with your choice of sauce, including BBQ and curry. Bianca got hers Teriyaki-ed.
The tofu comes with a choice of two sides. Bianca got the okra as well as the collards. How beautiful are these greens? These are a must-try at DeJaVu.
