Re: “Andy Wise is Now on WMC-5's Side

HI Andy,
I have a story to tell you. I live in Byhalia Mississippi. I am renting a place here. The landlord insisted that we put the utilities, water, and the trash in his name, they get the bill and mail it to me. The bills are in his name. I recently had a problem with a major water leak, that was the water companies fault. They put in new meters and installed the one that goes to this property wrong. This cause my water bill to be outrages. From 12.00 to 100.00 in one month. I called the water company and they came out to look at the meter. At first they stated that it was coming from the property line, which meant that we were going to have to pay for it. then they stated it was coming from the meter after we reminded them that they put in new meters two months ago and the water was shooting up like a fire hose. I called the alderman and it was stated that they would credit my account for the amount that I was over charged, due to the water leak was there fault. Was stated that I needed to write a letter stating that we had a water leak. The problem with that is, the water bill which I have been paying since I have been living here will be credit to the landlords account. I tried to get help regarding this situation from the District attorney, was stated that this is the policy of the town of Byhalia and you could take it to small claims court, but you would probably not win this case. I have never encountered this problem before. I have to ask permission from the landlord to fix anything here. what can I do about this situation?
