Re: “Letters to the Editor

The fog has lifted, the curtain opened... I think it was Buddy Miles that played with Black Oak Arkansas and Three Dog Night that memorable night in Memphis.

Re: “Letters to the Editor

OK, I didn't make to Woodstock,I did make to the Louisiana Rock Festival and it was a bust except I saw Janis Joplin in a bookstore during a rainstorm, but more important I wa at the Three Dog Night Concert in the Liberty Bowl in 1972. Black Oak Arkansas absolutely stole the show. When Jim Dandy walked out with his knee-high buckskin boots, long blond hair and a walking stick taller than him, we knew "it was on". I have seen some great concerts, The Stones, The Beatles...there in Memphis, too. I have seen Elvis, Elton John, America, The Grateful Dead, Lynard Skynard, Dylan, and scores more, but this one concert goes down in my mind as the most memorable because of B.O.A. It was fabulous. Now my memory may be somewhat hazy due to some external and internal distractions, but that is a fantastic memory. Three Dog Night....what the hell were they thinking warming up with Black Oak Arkansas...TDK was good, but Black Oak was GREAT! Now if I could only remember who the other warm-up was...an African American wearing a huge cape that when it was unfurled was a beautiful full-color buterfly. Unbelievable...woa there...was that a flashback?
