Don't forget his participation in the state health plan, 80% of which is paid for by taxpayers,
offered only to full-time state employees, excluding members of the legislature.

Re: “Sentiment Divided on “Insure Tennessee”

Quote from Brian Kelsey in the Tennessean “My first concern was that this was creating a new entitlement program for able-bodied childless adults, and it was expanding government under Obamacare, and I believe in limited government. I felt like this bill was further adding to the $18 trillion federal debt, and my final objection, which was really the most important, was that I had grave concerns that Tennessee taxpayers were going to be left on the hook to pay for this in future years.
TennCare would have gone above one-third of the budget for the first time ever and the teacher raise that we had to put off last year would probably have to be put off forever. I think it’s important to remember that among Republicans, we all agree that we ultimately need a block grant system for our Medicaid system and the governor and I are very much in agreement on that, and I hope that we can work toward that on a national level."

Interesting coming from someone who participates in a state health insurance program where the state pays 80% of the cost, and is not offered to any part-time employees other than the legislature. Guess Kelsey only likes entitlement programs that he can participate in personally.

Re: “Long Haul

Why not place it North of the "new" bridge if primarily I40, where the "new" bridge was originally suppose to go, and get alot of the thru truck traffic out of town ? Remember the proposed I69 will add alot of traffic if completed as proposed.
