Re: “#Babykillers, lottery, and buskers

What should I scope out Barf? I hate all those trucks around there. But the dairy has been there quite a while. It survived reasonably well along with its neighbors there for decades. What's changed? They want to get bigger and push more product through the place than ever before? Or is it more to do with Overton Square and its revitalization?

About the dairy, with tier 4 final engines, Def fluid, SCR and other exhaust filtering systems in place on the dairy trucks the exhaust is actually cleaner than the air going in the engines. Or so we have been told by the EPA who forced these systems on Diesel engines. So where are all of these "fumes" coming from that's everyone in the neighborhood is so scared of?

Crack, maybe the program would be better served now in the inner city lower income parts of town. There's by far more vacant lots there. And there's more crime there, more kids who want and need something else to do besides pick up a gun. Not a lot of hippies there so I wouldn't think it would help y'all out much anyways. If you still think I'm a commie then I guess that's your right. I've got my own opinion of you.

Re: “Meeting Airs Facts, Opinions, Emotions, Theories About Turner Dairy Project

Would this be as big a deal if Overton Square was still a ghost town? The dairy has a mess on their hands. Trying to park at Molly's is a nightmare because of all the trailers parked everywhere. The days of a small town dairy are over and sadly I don't think a 3 acre lot in the back is gonna fix much of anything.

Crack, maybe if there were more parks there would be more people willing to live and spend money in the city. Mutually beneficial relationship. Instead of fleeing to neighboring citys and counties like they have been doing for the last few decades.

I keep forgetting how liberal the Flyer and most of its readers are. I'm one of very few that actually enjoy it and its content even though I'm not liberal..

CL you are absolutely correct. A 2 level parking garage would work well. Works well in the revamped Overton Square.

I'm a big proponent of putting things back to their natural state. I hate seeing concrete or asphalt covered ground at abandoned businesses. We need more green spaces. Start with the Coliseum. There's acres and acres covered over there that could be one hell of a park. How many apartment complexes are there in this town that are condemned? Bulldoze them down and plant trees and dig lakes. Make them parks. This city does whatever it wants, why not take eminent domain over these properties? Reclaim them. There could be Greenswards all over then. Greenswards for everybody!
