GOODNIGHT, CLEVELAND

It’s been 20 years since Memphis, the fabled home of the blues and legendary birthplace of hot rocking, lost a hard-fought custody battle for the official Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to another great bastion of musical innovation: Cleveland. Just to rub it in, the good folks in Cleveland recently announced that Memphis will finally get its own special branch of the hall of fame, as will another American city known for changing the way the world boogies: Phoenix.
