Fly on the Wall

Porn stars & Police

File under "Ooof!" Last week, your pesky columnist made an error. The delirium set in after viewing a TV news report about how the sheriff's office was investigating how Foxy Jacky — the Mid-South's most infamous web stripper — had obtained the uniform of a Shelby County deputy. While poring over a positively obscene amount of pornographic material featuring Jacky and one very lucky service revolver, I began to hear the faint sound of guitars played through wah-wah pedals. Briefly, I imagined a wholesome encounter between Foxy Jacky and Dirk Diggler, the anonymous blogger from the MPD Enforcer 2.0 website, who says such awful things about the top brass at 201 Poplar. I subsequently wrote in Fly on the Wall that prior to looking into Foxy Jacky's uniform, Sheriff Mark Luttrell ended his pursuit of Dirk Diggler. It's actually police Director Larry Godwin who gave up on Diggler. We regret the error.

More Nasty

Admittedly, all the goings-on between local law enforcement and real and fake porn stars has had the Fly Team's collective mind in the gutter. But you don't have to have a dirty mind to wonder if Mel Brooks wrote this headline for The Commercial Appeal: "Downtown barbershop fills niche down under."

The piece was about the Down to Earth Barbershop and Beauty Salon, which is located in the basement of the Porter Building.

Deep South

Speaking at a political rally in Oxford, Mississippi's town square on the night before the presidential debate, Southaven mayor and congressional hopeful Greg Davis said America needs to "break our independence on foreign oil." He later added, "It's time that America cuts up its credit cards — especially to foreign countries — and gains our dependence back."
