Outsourcing Art? "With a couple consecutive quarters of profitability behind them, leaders at Memphis-based First Horizon National Corp. are breathing a little easier." That's the opening line of a generally upbeat Commercial Appeal story about how First Horizon, the parent company of First Tennessee bank, plans to "continue its strategy of steady growth in 2011." The story was illustrated with an artist's rendering of the empty, unfinished Horizon condos, the South Bluffs' looming reminder of recent economic disasters.

Best Headlines "Memphis is fertile recruiting ground for Nutt:" No, this wasn't a story about new hiring policies at the MPD. It's from a Southeast Missourian news story about Dicky Nutt, the Southeast Missouri State men's basketball coach.

Sad, sad joke."
