Fly on The Wall

Dopey Headline
Your Pesky Fly has a soft spot for headlines that are so bad they're crazy good, and they really don't get any better/worse than this classic from ABC-24:  "Woman's Hairdo Turns Into a Hair Don't." Yes, they went there, and who can really blame them? Damita Jo Boyd, who sported the don't-y 'do, was charged with attempting to smuggle contraband into a penal facility after jailers discovered a plastic bag full of marijuana hidden in her weave. Boyd was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Verbatim
Republican congressional candidate Charlotte Bergmann was optimistic when My Fox Memphis asked for her thoughts about conservative presidential hopeful Herman Cain, who was born in Memphis but raised in Georgia. "He actually mentioned that he could get a third of the black vote," she said. "I can guarantee you, especially in Memphis with him being a son of Memphis because he was actually born here, he could bring it home." That's probably bad news for Cain since Bergmann has also been known to post signs reading, "Charlotte Bergmann Can Win."

Neverending Elvis
Last week, in the Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel's Crystal Room, Legal Aid of East Tennessee, an organization providing assistance and advocacy for the elderly, hosted a special learning event succinctly titled "The State and Federal Cases Dealing with the King of Rock and Roll, Including Decisions of the United States Supreme Court and Why Elvis Would Want You to Do Pro Bono." Presenter Russell Fowler told reporters that Elvis is especially interesting because he never sued anyone himself, but after he died everybody got litigious.
