Fly on the Wall

Jesus, Mayor Wharton, and marijuana

It's a Sign!
In addition to their creative use of the letter "K," Krosstown Kleaners has always stood out for its special blend of Christian faith and commercial messaging. Over the years, the Midtown business' marquee has featured several interesting juxtapositions such as, "Jesus is Lord, $1.99 Shirts" and so forth. The latest incarnation, "Jesus is Lord, Check Web Site for Special" may be the best yet.

Verbatim
Mayor A C Wharton's plea to Congress regarding the fiscal cliff as quoted by American Public Media's Marketplace radio program: "Do something even if it's wrong. But do something. And if it's what we like, we'll smile. If it ain't what we like, hell, we'll get over it."

Green Mail
Fifteen former FedEx employees were indicted for tampering with the mail and stealing a wide range of items from packages at the FedEx hub in Memphis. Argle Williamson, Rodney Jones II, André Smith, and Marshall Allen McKinney were all charged with stealing both money and marijuana, which prompts at least one question: Who sends money in the mail?
