Former Memphis councilman Fred Davis has come forward as the person responsible for the "Show your mind, not your behind" billboard near Park and Airways, which juxtaposes the image of a newly minted graduate in his cap and gown with a shirtless guy in droopy drawers. Nothing communicates the idea that exposed underpants are an unsightly blight like some new baby-blue boxers blown up bigger than life by the side of the road.

Neverending Mongo
"Spirits every year say they will never watch Dancing With the Stars again but always do." Wise words from Robert Hodges, best known as "Prince Mongo" a 333-year-old alien and serial politician from the planet Zambodia. Hodges has recently announced, to the surprise of absolutely nobody, that he will once again run for mayor of Memphis.

Verbatim
"Stupid people" and "some idiots": words used by Sons of Confederate Veterans spokesman Lee Millar to describe vandals who spray-painted "racist murderer" and "slave trader" in red paint on the ever-controversial statue of Confederate general Nathan Bedford Forrest, who was a slave trader and the first grand wizard of the Ku Klux Klan.

State of Graceland
Graceland is not for sale to Kanye West or anybody else, Elvis' daughter and estate heir Lisa Marie Presley told USA Today after the mansion handily won a readers' choice contest to name America's best iconic attraction. Elvis' home beat out the White House, the Grand Canyon, the Statue of Liberty, and Mount Rushmore.
