friday, 23

Hopefully, most of you are not working today;, so my suggestion would be to head up to Shelby Forest and find the sandbars along the Mississippi River. It's very cool up there. Or you could check out the new After Work Party being hosted each Friday through January 4th at Club Atlas in Jillian's, with free buffet, drink specials, and live music -- all at no cover charge. Widespread Panic (the band, not what happens when Sally Struthers bends over) is playing tonight and tomorrow night at the Mid-South Coliseum. Project Motion kicks off its weekend peformance of An Evening of Modern Dance at Theatre Works. I'm not certain what this means, but there's a Gentleman's Antiques & Collectibles Sale today through Sunday at the Nineteenth Century Club, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the mansion's restoration. Those Memphis Grizzlies are playing Phoenix at The Pyramid tonight. Kenneth Jackson is at the New Daisy. The Great Depression, The F Holes, and the Rockwells are at the Map Room. Yamagata is at the Tap House. There are North Mississippi Allstars CD Release Parties tonight and tomorrow night at Young Avenue Deli. And last but certainly not least, The Chris Scott Band has moved its Thursday-night gig at Poplar Lounge to Fridays.
