Game On

With February comes Groundhog Day, Valentine's Day, President's Day, and the annual Regions Morgan Keegan Championships at the Racquet Club of Memphis, running February 17th through February 26th. This marks the 30th year of the indoor tennis tournament, which over the years has raised $5 million for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. It's also drawn some of the game's most talented players, including Bjorn Borg (who won in 1977), Jimmy Connors ('78 and '79), Pete Sampras ('96), Venus Williams ('98 and '99), and Monica Seles (2000 and 2001). This year, Andy Roddick (pictured) returns for the sixth time, having last won in 2002. Joining him are the popular men's doubles team (and twin brothers) Mike and Bob Bryan and Chile's number-one player Fernando Gonzalez. Among those competing for the women's cup are 16-year-old Nicole Vaidisova from Russia and Lisa Raymond, the U.S. player who won the tournament in 2002 and 2003.

Regions Morgan Keegan Championships, Friday, February 17th-Sunday, February 26th, the Racquet Club of Memphis (tickets, 685-ACES)
