Re: “Brian Kelsey Pulls Sponsorship of "Turn the Gays Away" Bill

"nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws," you cant make a law that applies to a group of people based on non rational thought, values are not what laws should be based upon... Just because I don't like something does not make it constitutional to make laws that treat others differently... I am not arguing the right of a business to not serve someone, but the state making a law that says one way or the other is wrong.... Yes one way or the other... Laws based on values are wrong because values are absolute ... This country was founded on equality & egalitarianism and the future status that hard work can bring... so why make a law that reverses 223 years of trial and error? What happened to the central belief in the basic equality of opportunity for human beings and equal protection under the law, as well as equal social treatment. When did we find it ok to stop thinking that every person is considered a unique individual and place a lower value on everyones right to personal style and action? Accomplishment should be graded upon what one does for oneself, and the individual effort, not sexual orientation.
