Re: “Fiery Suicide Galvanizes Midtown Music Community

Hi Steven. If I concede that I should have used "several" and "some" instead of "most" and "many," will you concede my main point, which is that there is no tie between the Reagan administration and the guy lighting himself on fire last Friday night? And trying to work it into an article about a tragic occurrence is unnecessary and wrong.

Everything I said is true, especially the part about how trying to blame this on a President who left office in 1988 is not real journalism.

Re: “Fiery Suicide Galvanizes Midtown Music Community

So, "Therapeutic care has also received short shrift since Ronald Reagan slashed federal funding of mental health programs in the 1980s." That's why this guy burnt himself up? Since Ronald Reagan, we have had 16 years of Democratic presidents (eight each for Clinton and Obama). And in most of those years, the Democrats controlled the House. In many of those years, they controlled both the House and the Senate. Why would you take a news story about a serious subject and throw in a cheap and inaccurate political jab? You just can't help it?
